Reopen and Resume options:

If a user starts an exam or survey but doesn't finish, possibly due to internet or computer issues, you have the following options to let them continue and complete their assignment.

Reopen a Finished Attempt

Groups: When you reopen a finished Exam or survey, your user simply needs to log back into their account and they will see a 'Resume' button to complete the assignment again.

Links: When you reopen a finished exam or survey, you can create a unique Resume Link. Send this link to users so they can access and complete their assignment.

  1. Go to the user's individual results page.

  2. Click on the blue 'Reopen' button that is displayed right above the answers that the user has provided.
  3. A message box will open displaying the following message:

"You can set this Test/survey back to a status of "In Progress" so it can be resumed again.

After selecting the 'Reopen' button, you can create a unique 'Resume' link for the user to open and resume the test or survey.

Reopening a Test or survey and allowing it to be resumed will NOT use additional credits.

Note: Reopening a Test will remove the Score and Finished Date until the Test is again finished and regraded."

Confirm the reopening of the Test or survey by clicking on 'Reopen'.

Create a Resume Link

* Only required for Links, not Groups.

If an exam or survey is reopened, or was not finished in the first place, you can create a unique resume link for the user to log in and finish their assignment.

  1. Go to the user's individual results page and click Resume Link.

When you click to expand this option, it will display:

"If this user is having trouble resuming this assignment, or the "Resume and finish later" option was not set, you can create a unique "Resume Link" to give them so they can resume and finish this assignment.

Reopening a Test or survey and allowing it to be resumed will NOT use additional credits."

Please Note: The link can be used only once. So, please do not test it to make sure it works as it will then become invalid.

  2. Click on the blue button 'Create Resume Link'. Your link has now been created to provide to your user.
